Hi Nail lovers, I hope you are all having a fabulous manicure and if you're not I hope you book an appointment ASAP.
Really??? Book an appointment ASAP? How do we book an appointment ASAP during a global pandemic when we're facing heavy lockdown and job losses? Expenses have fluctuated but incomes have been cut in half. How do you book an appointment when you haven't even seen your loved ones in a while and some are possibly quarantining or in hospital? It is so hard to stay positive and look forward to anything when the world around is falling apart. How do you even begin to talk about selfcare without being too shallow and shutting off the issues that are happening all around us but why is shallow such a bad thing if we're being honest? How much of ourselves can we really give before we start falling apart?
I've decided to go offline for a while because currently South Africa is going through so much and now on top of it all, there has been looting in the name of our former President Jacob Zuma and I've decided that enough, it's time I become selfish and log out! I'm not watching news and I'm not gonna go on social media, I'm gonna be shallow and binge watch series and take care of myself.
I was diagnosed with a mental illness in 2012 and I have gone as far as being hospitalized twice in my life since and as much as I feel with the world, my only contribution to the world right now is being offline instead of adding my 2cents online and giving more people like myself anxiety. My contribution to the world currently is checking up on my loved ones and reminding them how much I love them. So since all of you decided to read this blog post, it means we're family and hey I love you and I hope you minimize your time online and love yourselves.

How do you keep positive during this difficult time?
[ 1 ] Log off social media for a while
[ 2 ] Exercise or meditate
[ 3 ] Listen to affirmations podcasts
[ 4 ] Read a book
[ 5 ] Learn a skill
[ 6 ] Practice selfcare (you can DIY)
[ 7 ] Keep in touch with loved ones
Stay safe and until next time, I love you all of you!
