TEACHING IS NOT A SKILL BUT A PASSION

Hi nail lovers I hope you are all having a fabulous manicure and if you are not, I hope you book an appointment ASAP.

So welcome to another blog post as we unpack another topic related to our love for nail artistry. As some of you guys might know, I hosted my acrylic class this past week and it was both exhilarating and overwhelming but all in all I am a very happy woman.

I had 4 students in total and I really wasn’t mad at the number because to succeed you have to begin and because I was used to doing one on one tutorials, this number was just great! The classes were a total of 5 days but sometimes along the way it felt as if it was a month already. To finish I had to remind myself why I started my classes at the first place and this required me to draw inspiration from a very deep place within myself and that place is called PASSION. The same passion that made me feel more alive than my accounting textbook and that passion that made me put my qualification on hold to pursue nail artistry.

So, the question for today is, should all nail technicians transfer skills or is teaching a different concept on its own? I personally think so. According to Merriam Webster, passion is a strong liking or desire for or devotion to some activity, object, or concept. I think Merriam was right because to transfer the skill you must not only have a strong liking for the nail artistry and its financial gains but you must also be devoted into ensuring all your students go out there with better knowledge to start off their careers. Can teaching be taught? I definitely think its possible but I think to be passionate you really must care and for me to care it would mean to find a balance between financial gains and giving people value for money.

The classes were R3000 for 5 days and only focused on acrylic systems and all students received a full kit worth R2000 and an attendance certificate. Someone might think, did you even make profit but my whole business is based on helping nail technicians better their businesses and ensuring optimum profits are achieved so this was my little gift to everyone trying to break into the nail space.

There’s a video out on YouTube so you can watch it on Magique Reviews and see how it went and check out the pictures on Instagram (@magiquesupplies) and Facebook (magique supplies). I have received your requests and I will work hard to ensure our next classes are sooner than you think.

Thank you so much for passing by, I wish you guys a fabulous manicure Monday and remember that all your dreams are valid and in due time everything will make sense as long as you take a step a day.

XoXo
