I am a person who strongly relies on daily to-do lists to keep order in my life but this week it feels like I’m moving in limbos and that’s off putting for an organized person like me but there’s something bigger that’s troubling me and it has nothing to do with the fact that I haven’t exercised since the week has begun. I have been trying to beg the nail technicians in my city to shoot content with me and maybe because I never thought it would be this hard, well it is because nail technicians might just be the busiest people in the world.
I am scrolling through my contacts wondering who is going to be in my next video and then I remembered a girl I’ve recently met in a taxi home, she instantly struck a conversation and told me she already knew Magique and let me be the first to tell you how flattered I get when anyone tells me they realize my hustle. She told me she was a nail technician and I filled her in my new business venture and promised to work with her soon but before my stop, I send her off with one of Magique Supplies kit and she’s keen and I just know that she will be my kind of people.
It’s a beautiful Wednesday and we are late but Nosipho Kwanika of Yummy Pampers welcomes us in her beautiful garden setup with a smile. I hug her and thank the beautiful and soft-spoken lady in front of me and we get to work.

Q: How long have you been doing nails and what made you fall in love?
A: Truly speaking, I have been doing nails for 2 and a half year and at first, I liked them but they were very tiring and eventually after time you get to love and be patient with it. I didn’t want to be a nail tech but in high school I used to do press on all the times until I saw a lady do nails and I went to buy powder and mixed with water and was shocked that it didn’t work so I went back to ask and was told that it was monomer!
Q: How has the nail industry been to you?
A: The nail industry has been kind because I have been able to move forward and acquire things for myself so I would advise anyone to get in the nail business.
Q: Are you a self-taught nail technician and do you follow nail brands?
A: I am self-taught and I use whatever works!
Q: Where do you see your business in the next 5 years?
A: I want to open branches in Nelspruit and I am currently buying building materials to build my mini beauty business.
Q: Do you feel like Facebook has been a good marketing tool for you?
A: When I started out, I posted my work on Facebook even when I wasn’t proud of my work but when I improved, I removed my old work and added new pictures and Facebook has assisted in reaching out to a lot of new clients even better than Instagram even though I use Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration and trendy nails
Q: If you were not doing nails what would you be doing?
A: I would probably be in school studying medicine or pharmacy but I don’t regret my decision because I would rather sleep with R1 everyday than R5 once.
Q: Has location affected your business in terms of pricing and how do you deal with clients who wants discount?
A: No, my clients are 60% in Matsulu so people are used to my prices because my work speak for itself. If you are my regular, I might do a favor for you but business is business, there’s no friendships in business.
Q: How much money do you make roughly in a month?
A: I can say close to R2000, including makeup is R3500
Q: What advice can you give to an upcoming and aspiring nail technician?
A: Simple, do you!
Q: Run us through your prices and how can people contact you? Number and socials?
A: This set is R180, on Instagram I am @ItsNosiphoKayleeChris and Facebook is @NosiphoKayleeChris. My WhatsApp number is 060 747 8352 you can call or WhatsApp!
